An alcoholic drink to keep me awake?

Hey there, i'm going on a big night out that has been planned for months tomorrow night (our friend is returning for a week after moving to Dubai last year). I'm at work from 10-2 in the morning then going straight from work to the pub and the drinking starts (my mates are starting at 1 ill join a bit late).

Now the issue I have is that I messed up my sleeping pattern pretty bad due to the fact I had my baby nephew for the whole of last week keeping me up.

It is currently 3 in the morning and I know I won't get to sleep for at least an hour or two as i'm not tired at all, but I need to be up for work at 9. Then i want to go straight to town after work as some of my friends are only coming out for a few hours and i don't want to end up miles behind all my friends.

So my question is what alcoholic drinks do people recommended to get me through the day (bare in mind we will be drinking until around 2/3 in the morning).

Are the any drinks I should avoid that will make me sleepy..

And is the anything else i can do to keep me awake/make me fall asleep quicker now

Have a cup or two of Lava Java coffee just before you go out ( no more or you'll be awake for hours longer than you want), and eat something to keep up your energy levels. Plan ahead for the inevitable crash and make sure you can get a straight sleep soon after the event or you'll be in zombie mode for days whatever you do.

Don't worry about being 'miles behind' your friends- they haven't had the demands that you have had, and if you try to 'catch up' you'll risk ending up heaving up on the street or asleep in the corner. You want to have a laugh, so stop worrying and look forward to it, it's not a competition. I would at first go for drinks that last longer in your hand i.e. that don't get you p**sed too quickly, like light beer/lager, of course you could go for red bull/vodka but at your stage of tiredness it might be overload ( you might get caffeine heebie-jeebies).

The thing that helps me sleep in these kind of situations is to realise I'm just getting through on not enough sleep, so I go for cat naps in as much comfort as I can ( not napping in the chair), hot showers, planning ahead to have good quick food available, avoiding un-necessary stress and anxiety.

Like on guy said irish coffee could do the trick or you could try mixing energy drinks whether you like Monster, SoBe, Red Bull or any of the other caffeinated drinks with alcohol like vodka just keep in mind that once the energy from them go away you will crash + all the alcohol which makes you tired so its kinda bad to do it meaning don't drink too much.
