What does Espresso Taste like?

Is Espresso sweet? Bitter? In between? And I mean just regular espresso with whatever you normally put into it. It was creme I think?

It depends on how fine or coarse the beans are grounded. If the beans are not sufficiently grinded, you'll come out with a weak espresso, which is less strong. On the other hand, the espresso will taste bitter if you grind the coffee beans to pure powder. You have the control on how you want it, usually it can be controlled using the settings on the espresso machine

There are many types of espresso, one of it is Americano that tastes more like black regular coffee, which is popular in the US

You are not supposed to put anything else than coffee in it, unless you want to make a cappuccino.

If not, the foam you can see at the top is naturally produced by the pressure.

To me, it just tastes like excellent coffee, but if you are used to what Americans consider as coffee you may get a shock (all cafés in France make coffee that strong, although not always excellent)
