What size iPad is the best...16GB,32GB or 64GB?

I'm purchasing this for my daughter for grad school. She needs it for classes and has to download over $800 worth of text books to start. She is in medical school. Will the 32GB be too small? Or will it be obsolete by the time she even gets close to 64GB?

Update:

Don - She has a laptop already. Unfortunately the school has "required" an ipad for her to get her books. They won't download on a NOOK, we tried. We aren't thrilled with the "forced buy" but no choice in the matter. Maybe there is a cheaper option, compatible with the iPad ?? Thanks for your help!

Update 2:

Side of EPIC - Thank you for your answer. However, "obsolete" is exactly the correct word I wanted. Reread the question - meaning "with the speed at which technology becomes available will the iPad be obsolete by the time she even comes close to using 64GB."

Update 3:

I think the mini will be too small given her need to read so much on it. Any experience with this would be helpful.

always buy as much disc & ram space you can afford.... however i do believe your daughter should have a laptop rather than an iPad!

Get the 64gb. Obsolete is out of date, not out of space. Get a Nexus tablet vs. the iPad in my opinion, or get a 64gb iPad Mini. Either way, iPads aren't worth it, and are too big to be carrying around all day. the iPad Mini or the Nexus 7 (I prefer Nexus 7) are the perfect size for carrying around. But the way you used the word obsolete isn't correct.

The iPad is too big, you can't fit in anywhere! I now understand what you were saying, although you were missing part of your statement in that sentence. For speed, probably not. The iPad Mini is just perfect, 7" Tablets(the iPad mini is slightly bigger to compete) are designed for reading, the iPad is not! a 9.7"(apprx 10" with bezel) is HUGE to carry around, and gets quite heavy to read with after 15 minutes+. Notice all the ereaders are 7". Any guess why? Because it can fit easily in one hand to read. You will be getting a work out when you hold the iPad in one hand, because it gets annoying to hold it with two! Just stick with an iPad Mini.

If you read a book you start to see the story how you want to assume it not the way the director wants that you see it

reading is much better the book maintains u thinking and you also get more detail in what folks are thinking and you simply get more imagination
