When it comes to your favorite songs, what grabbed you first...?

That would be a toss up for me.

Sometimes I heard a phrase and listened more, other times the music caused me to pay attention to the lyrics.

Usually bouncy music. I rarely learn the words to music anymore, though when I was a teen I was really into lyrics. I just heard Sheryl Crow's All I Wanna Do is Have Some Fun on The Family Guy, and I remembered how much I really liked it the very first time I heard it.

Most of the time its the lyrics. though i have liked songs just for the music.

The music grabs me first.

First of all, if it has a good beat & is easy to dance to. (Some might recognize that from American Bandstand.) Works for me. Of course, the music & the lyrics at the same time would have to get my attention before I judged it at all.

humorous you should indicate out Musta were given lost. i like that song! I also like Flamethrower, Freeze body and Centerfold. And, even as Adam Sandler does Love Stinks contained in the marriage Singer, it is hilarious! yet Musta were given lost would might want to be my popular! i imagine the reason radio stations do not play the starting up of the song is that it is spoken and in no way song. I used to artwork at a radio station, and that i requested a similar area of this technique director and he might want to in no way provide me a good answer about it, yet reported some thing alongside those lines.

Mostly the music and then the vocalist regardless of the lyrics.

The music --- I don't know why but even as a teenager -- I could hum the song but only remember the chours of most songs.
