Clunk noise on 2006 Toyota Tundra?
Hello there, I have a 2006 toyota tundra that makes a noise when i accelerate to reverse. For example, when I put it in reverse and back up a small, i mean small incline, it will make a clunk sound that can be heard and felt underneath the drivers side floorboard. It will make this noise whenever I accelerate, give more throttle, to go up the inclined hill. I am not sure what is causing this noise. I am hoping somebody can help me out. Could be a motor or transmission mount or even a bad read universal joint.
Usually, a clunking sound will be one of those three items.

Check the motor mounts. Pop the hood and look straight down on the side of the engine where the engine is bolted to the frame there is one on each side You should be able to see if the rubber has ripped. I'm a mechanic and I usually have an assistant change from drive to reverse with my hand on it and I can feel the bang. You could also have a tranny problem mine was replaced at 20k on my 02 tundra
