I'm a bad patient, but really? It this just rediculous behavior or is it just me?
I have been seeing the same physician partnerchip for 3 years. over theat time Iv. been seperated, divorced, engaged, dumped, engaged, maried Seperated and divorced. Nice 3 years. anyway I'll admir that in the past I;'ve been prone to forgettign to go to appointments and being late, and cancelling appintments less than 48 hours beforehand, and cancelling appouintments a few days ahead of time a few times. Accordign to my doctor, I've either no showed or cancelled 4 oout of the last 5 appoointment. I remember that I no showed my last appointment. The time before that I came a few minutes late and they wouldn't see me the time beforwe that I cancelled the appointment and rescheduled 2 or 3 days before the appointment. The time before that I was there 30 minutes early and they made me wait until an hour and a half after my appointment time before they would see me anyway, So I no showed my last appointment because my bosses wanted something right away and I would get into trouble if I left before itt was done. so I was soo late, there was no ppint trying to get there. That happens quite a bit. I make a doctors appointment and my boss wants somethign dome immediately, and I have to come to work or I can't leave work, and have to cancel at the last minute, or am too late top get to myappointment. anyway all this seems pretty bad, except that I only go to the doctor every 6 months. Most of the time I do re-schedule at least 24 hours ahead of time if I can't come. I'm being treated for depression, anxiety at my primary care doctor and I also have attention deficit disorder.
Of course It's not all just me. making somebody wait 2 hours to be seen if they are 30 minutes early? Refusing to see a patient at aqll that week if they are a few minutes late? when there are clearly no other patients there (it's before 8, and there were like 5 cars in the parking lot)? never answering the phone? Never responding to voice mail messages?
Well after Ihad top cancel a couple days beforehanda few weeks ago, I asked if I could get a 2 week extension on my antidepresseants. So, for my re-scheduled appointment, I came a few minutes late and they would not see me that day and had nothing for a week. So, I asked ifI could get a 1 or 2 week extension on my antidepressants, and they told me to call the automated system and leave a voice mail. But they didn't respond to that. then I couldn't leave work for my re re-rescheduled appointment, so I called after-the-fact and re-scheduled again, but they didn't have anything for 2 weeks, so I asked If I could get another extension on my medication and they couldn't say and told me to call the automated system, So I did, but a week later, they still hadn't responded and hadn't called it in. So, I call them yesterday and ask them what's going on and they just tell me to call the automated system again. So I say I already did that twice, but they just tell me to call again. So I say "if I call again, is anyone goign to make sure they call in my medication or at least call me back?" and she says " I don't know what to tell you" So I call again, and by the time I get off the phone, I got a voice-mail from my doctor (they didn't even call, they sent a voice-mail) the voice-mail says I have to come in in person before I can get any more of my anti-depressants. So I've been off them for a week already, and I have to wait another 2 weeks before I can be seen. So I call back adn the lady chews me out, saying I've missed 4 of my last 5 appointments. So I say to her: "first of all, I 'missed' 3 this month and went to one 6 months ago, after cangelling once 2 or 3 days ahead of time. Second I cancelled 2 of those appointments at least 2 days ahead of time, Third, 2 of those 5 appointments were over 6 months ago. So I ask her "I have an appointment in 2 weeks, are you tellign me I have to go 3 weeks without my antidepressions? She hangs up on me. So I get a letter when I get home, that says they're are dropping me as a patient effective December 20 (in 5 weeks).

Sorry, the office has the right to terminate you as a patient for even one missed appointment, and you have had far more than that. Their office has learned that you are not responsible enough to adhere to scheduled appointments, and they are afraid to continue making appointments for you. The doctor is governed by strict rules about prescribing medications for patients that have not been seen in the office, so he is protecting himself. Right now there is probably so much ill will among the staff toward you that you will be better served to start over with a new physician.

I'd drop you too, you are causing a lot of valuable wasted time for the office.
You complain about having to wait to be seen but think nothing of the inconvenience you have caused the Doctor and the office staff numerous times.
Better start looking for a new Doctor, if any in your town will take you.
