What's the mangiest item of clothing you have...?

that you still wear on a regular basis? Why do you think you've kept it so long?

For me, it's a John Lennon t-shirt that I bought when he was still alive! The graphics are barely visible anymore, the collar is frayed, and there's a sizeable hole in the left armpit...but since he was killed...I just haven't been able to bring myself to toss it.

I still wear an old gray sweat shirt with paint all over it. I'm an artist and I wear this to protect my better clothes when I'm painting in my studio.

I don't have any scruffy/mangy clothing. I buy virtually all my clothes (except underwear) from charity shops. I always buy those which look almost new and which I know I will wear often. When I feel like a change I give them away to be re-sold to another charity shop fan and I buy something else. That way I get great value for money but never have any so badly worn that they are only fit for the rag bag.

A 15-year old T-shirt from the Rose Rock Festival in Oklahoma, it was my favorite shirt for years and I wear it around the house about once a week....needs to go at some point.

I have a black sweatshirt that I paid $5 for years ago. It's faded, has a few stains and rips but it is SO comfy!

I also have a Michigan State sweatshirt my sister gave me in 1960. I COULD wear it but I am afraid it would disintegrate before my eyes. I have a pair of Wrangler jeans that I bought 46 years ago but here is NO way i could fit into them!

Some of my moth-eaten wool sweaters look pretty shabby. . I need to get a new sewing machine, but the good ones are so expensive. With a sewing machine, I can use my socks-without-partners to make patches to stitch onto the wrong side of sweaters & then zig-zag around the holes. I used to do a pretty good job at that sort of thing.

I have a raggedy old Tweety Bird T-shirt my son gave me about 25 years ago -- after he'd worn it for 10 years. It's worn to a delicate softness and I love it. Alas, no one will go out of the house with me wearing it, so I wear it at home.

An old lightweight green/brown camo jacket with deep pockets. I can not seem to give it up since the deep pockets and front patch pockets are better than on most other jackets. I wear it in cool weather when taking the dogs out for their walk.

I have a sweater and a jacket that used to be my dad's. They are too big on me, and I can't wear them out anywhere because they are not appropriate for a middle-aged woman in the 21st century. Dad died 22 years ago and they were old then, but sometimes I like to throw on the sweater or jacket to keep warm around the house. I just can't bring myself to throw them out!

  • Well I wear sweats and T-shirts all the time and they are more comfortable even when mangy....I have lots of T-shirts from my heydays that I have kept, only wore them a few times but I keep them in storage..Beatles,Pink Floyd,Elvis,Rolling Stones, Led Zep...still in good shape but can't wear them anymore LOL

That would be most of my closet!

My favorite PJ's have holes all over because of when my pup was a baby he would chew on them while I slept, I have as many work/gardening shoes as I do good shoes, my old clothes are way too bad to even think of donating!
