Depersonalization disorder?

All I ever hear about this continuous feeling of being separated from my own body is either "it goes away on it's own" or "see a psychiatrist".

It's been over a year and a half and I just feel more and more like I'm fading away. I'm getting clumsy, knocking into things. I don't even realize what I'm eating sometimes and can't tell you what I did this morning, I didn't really notice.

I'm afraid of a psychiatrist, or whatever mental doctors are called. I don't feel insane I just feel.. Well I feel like nothing, like I'm on another planet watching myself. I don't want medication and I don't see what doctor's can do for me.

Does anybody have experience with this? I'm not even sure why I'm writing this here I just don't really know who to ask anymore.

depersonalization is caused by severe anxiety, drugs, neurological disorders and i think because of psychoprenia also so stop taking any kind of drugs if you are and go to a doctor and he will probably refer you to a psychologist and maybe even psychiatrists and maybe some meds not that its necessary but it might help try working on your anxiety with a counselor it might help and the doctor will most likely run some tests to see if its not physical i know how horrible this is ive been having this for 2 years now without any improvement and it dosnt go away on its own if you dont do anything about it good luck

see a doc for meds, prozac often helps

learn new and better ways to relax and calm yourself

breathe deep and slow, dont hold your breath, avoid rapid shallow panting

any ordinary doc will know of your problem, it can become an addiction
