A christian guy once wrote here on yahoo answers that she was physically taken to heaven, so she left no body here.

Sounds like an excuse. People have asked these questions long ago so the answers have been invented long ago.

The Orthodox, Catholics, and many Anglicans (and perhaps others) have that Mary ascended bodily, so, there is not tomb and bones.

But, remember, back in the day, the amount of followers was very small. In the few hundreds. There are, in fact, monuments and such, but, as they were made much, much later, even the location details are murky. There are several churches built on the spot where Jesus' tomb was, for example - in different places, as they aren't quite sure what is the correct one.

By Tradition when they opened the tomb of the virgin Mary she was gone. Many believed she was taken into heaven body and soul. This is not affirmed nor denied in the bible. So it is indeed possible.

Like the Prophets Enoch & Elijah, Mary went up to Heaven, physically, body & soul.

    Who knows.

Did you forget Christianity did not have a large following and faced persecution for saying they were Christian until Constantine adopted Christianity. There were only a couple dozen Christians before her death. There were not many people who could keep her grave maintained and memorialised until ~300CE.

If she was real, then yes of course she died. No one knows about her remains, though I wouldn't be the least bit surprised that several thousand people think they possess one of her finger bones.

She was cremated in accordance with Viking tradition.
