Do people Judge you without knowing you?
I can't change the world, but I can't stand when people don't give you the benefit of the doubt. I've been working in the real world for awhile a now and have realized that people will think negatively about you instantly if you fall into a certain education class or background, age, race, etc.
Anybody have any stories of just blatant unjust cruelty they've experienced based on nothing other than prejudice?
1 example i will give is that I got my engineering degree and work as a design engineer and people assume that I think I'm better than them and more important. They put words in my mouth. What's even worse is that they constantly condescend me if I ask a question, making me feel stupid and foolish. Aren't they acting towards me exactly how they "think" I would be acting towards them?
I have never shown anyone dis-respect or name calling, etc. I don't see the point.

Sadly people will always do this, many times they judge a book by the cover, they will judge you on your looks before they get to know you. I worked as a bar manager in an all black night club back in the 1990s, I have shaved my head since my military days, back then not many people shaved their heads like do today. The owner would have the HBO bad boys of comedy come in every few months and I would have to go over their schedule and pay them after their act. The minute they seen me they told me they were going to write me into their act, every comedian had a minute or two in their set where they ripped into me calling me every name you can imagine, here I am a bald headed white guy in an all black club. But it is all how you take it, I would laugh it off and go with it. You can either get mad and upset or just go with the flow, the whole purpose is for everyone to have a good time, nobody likes being the butt of jokes but if you learn to laugh at yourself it makes it easier. Come to find out they were all good guys, just doing their act and I got to know them and they got to know me but 1st impressions you would never think it would have ended that way. Life is too short, there will always be morons in the world, as long as you can go home every night and know you were not a moron it is a good day, live your life for you not for the morons out there, it only matters what you think about yourself, not what they think.

Everybody judges everybody. That's human nature.
We judge people based on their hair style, skin color, clothes, their posture, their weight, and many other things. You are not alone in being judged. Some things you can change and some you can't. If you keep up your hygiene, dress well, smile often, and treat others with respect, you will generally be treated better. There are also things you can do with posture to come across as more approachable and friendly. For the rest, oh well. You have to work with the cards you're dealt.
To keep this on a religious topic, religion is superstition.

via fact like different aspects of the Bible that they locate inconvenient and as a result forget approximately approximately, they do no longer sense that Matthew 5:40 six-40 seven, Matthew 7:one million-5, Luke 6:31-37, Luke 18:10-14, John 8:4-7, Romans 2:one million-6, Romans 14:4-22, Hebrews 10:30, and James 4:11-12 are sensible to their agendas.

Of course people judge without knowing someone - that is human nature and sometimes it is good discernment.
As for a specific story in my life: people assume that I have always been the way I am today when in fact that is not true at all. I totally changed whenever I started putting the teachings of Christ into practice in my life.

People have been doing this since people lived on this planet. And will continue to do so for a long time. It is better now than it was many years ago, but we still need vast improvement in this area

People judge others, nearly always wrongfully of course. I decided that is THEIR problem not mine and I don't pay them much mind. Stupid people draw other stupid people unto them.... be above such crap and be a better person taking the high road with such individuals. Who cares what they want to think or judge. YOU know who you are - and that's all that should matter.

Why waste time and energy even thinking about this? People can be rude, mean, etc, and nothing anyone does is going to change it. Best thing you can do with people like that is realize they don't matter.
