Peri-Menopause Hell: What can I do to get better?

Hello ALL, here's my story:

I am a 49 year old peri-menopausal woman. I work out 3x a week. I don't eat white sugar, white pasta or white bread! I eat very well & yet I feel as if I need to be somewhere AWAY from humankind! I take VERY high-end vitamins, including calcium. My family doesn't know what to expect from me, on a day to day basis!

Having said that, below are the symptoms I am experiencing, as we speak:

1. Sleep Deprivation

2. Anger/Rage

3. Lethargic

4. Insecure

5. Stressed Out

6. Body Aches

7. Irrational Behavior

8. Mean/BAD Temper

9. Uncontrollable Rapid Heartbeats

10. Isolated

11. Depressed

12. Hot Flashes between my breasts

13. Unfocused

14. Bouts Of Crying

I don't understand how any woman can get through/got through such a TUMULTUOUS time in her life, without being institutionalized! Ladies (or anyone for that matter) please help me, I know, some of you all have been through this & can offer me some very valuable tips! I don't know how much more of this HELL on Earth, I can take!

Tell me your thoughts. thanks!

OMT: I am flat-out REFUSING to take HRT!

    Hello,

Try this some herbs like Soy, Flaxseed, Black Cohosh, Ginkgo Biloba that will help you to give relief in menopause symptoms.

i am 40 and havent had a period for 2 years and am in an early menopause. I totally empathise with all of your symptoms. It's a horrible place to be. I tried bio identical hormones which helped but i had to stop because mu body started producing hormones again for a short while. for a year i have been hormone free and it's been HELL. after months of procrastinating I am on the pill which is just another form of hormone therapy. Let me tell you that after 2 weeks I feel like a new women. no hot flashes or mood swings, i feel like the old me. My diet has been shocking over the last year and i have gained weight because of that and i lost my training mojo. I have seen a nutritionist who has put me on some great supps and herbs. SLowly im changing my diet and training is coming back :)

Your diet and training sounds great but it maybe worth seeing a nutritionist and herbalist for further advice?

Dont be totally opposed to some kind of hormone therapy, you may only need it for a short while.

I used to be anti HRT but i think we are all different and have different needs.

    good luck

The worst part is the rage.Someone looked at me funny at a Christmas party last night and I wanted to drive a candy cane through her ear and into her brain. I'm going off- not just on people but on inanimate objects as well; "who left this cupboard DOOR open?" (SLAM!) "why is this RUG in my way?" (kick it into the wall) (hit the wall with toe and throw a wet burrito at husband's head when he laughs)

I'm an otherwise warm and friendly person who now terrifies coworkers and would probably be denied entrance at an airport just because of the maniacal look on my face of late. It's like every person I encounter in a day disgusts me because they have a face. My doctor suggested I consider an antidepressant for the emotional upheaval, and I may consider that. I probably should; people are hugging the wall and cowering when they see me walking by all covered in menopause and evilness and whatnot...

Vitamin supplements. They often emotive symptoms. And consider going on the pill for a bit to get hormones back on even keel.
