Is this what they mean by "Putting Christ Back in Christmas"?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uNtBkOXItqw

If the Dec. 25th celebration developed into something that more accurately paralleled the meaning behind His sacrifice?

Update:

@Lou C. Ferr:

"Christians DID NOT steal a pagan holiday, they simply incorporated it..."

So in your mind, using something that is another culture's as your own, for your own function, isn't "stealing"? Quite close either way. And similar negative connotations certainly apply when not getting permission and involving dishonest motives.

"Today's Christmas is full of commercialism."

Sure, it's used to promote various kinds of products, not just the Christian product anymore(its various propositions). Does that bother you? And the decorations that you mentioned aren't what makes it commercialized. By the way, Francis of Assisi tacked on the nativity scene thing long after Christmas was about gift giving and spending time with loved ones.

    Yes. Vicarious redemption, as they say in the film, is truly that horrific.

    Christians DID NOT steal a pagan holiday, they simply incorporated it to get pagans to convert to Christianity. You can still celebrate the Roman celebrations anytime you want to.

    Putting Christ back into Christmas..."Christmas" is a compound word meaning "Christ's Mass". A mass to celebrate the birth of Christ, not his sacrifice. That's Easter.

    Today's Christmas is full of commercialism. If you look around at all the decorations you'll see Santa Claus, reindeer, snowmen, candy canes, but no Nativity scenes.

    Some of the decorations are said to be symbolic, like candy canes are supposed to represent a shepherd's hooked cane. Were they really hooked or just a straight stick? I think they were straight sticks. Candy canes with a hook simply make them easier to sell if they can hang from a tree.

    In many places overseas you won't see these decorations, but you will see a lot of Nativity scenes.

    Christmas, for Christians, is supposed to be about celebrating the birth of our savior Jesus Christ. Nowadays people are so worried about what they want to receive for Christmas that they lose sight of the real meaning of the holiday. It should be about what you can give to others ( and not just your family).

    that saying is so ironic since Christmas is a holiday Christianity stole from pagans

    It means too many people want the name Christ taken out of the word "Christ"mas and want the holiday changed from a religious holiday to a Santa day.

    Because we called it CHRISTmas, so never forget about Him and his reason coming to the world...

    It means put that stupid fatty peodophills who likes to enter people house without permission back to land of nowhere. Also he only loves good child, and thanks God i'm not.
