Dress ideas for my 21st?

My birthday is New Years, and I am turning 21 this year (or technically next year). I am 5'8 athletic build, so strapless doesn't agree with me, if you catch my drift. I have really long legs, so super short doesn't really work either. I just need some ideas, cause I don't even know where to start! I'll attach a picture to give you an idea. I'm the one on the far right.

    A black dress, little above your knees, with just enough shoulder length to c9over your shoulders, and, if you want, a silver necklace.

    Try a median length dress with straps.
