Job dedication? what would you do?

Hello, so to this day, I have been working for my current employer for 2 years. I remember when I started with the city. Such promises of promotion and growth. Something that leads to future building of a life outside of poverty. I was so happy. I would tell all my friends about this new job of mine. Yes it was just part time work, but with the promise of a full time spot opening up soon, all I had to do was wait it out.

I loved my job, up until 3 months ago when the director of my department announced that all the full time positions have been reduced to two part time spots, that we have had our hours cut from 30 a week to 24. that right there was a tilting point. It was a crushing blow for me. My future at the city was at a capstone in my specialized department. So, if this happened to you, would you still put in the extra effort to be the best employee one can be? Still brown nose to keep your boss happy? I still do my job, and all my responsibilities, but i do not do them with enthusiasm, i no longer look forward to going to work. Sorry, i just had to vent. This has been bugging me for awhile.

Yeah I know, but just get another part or full time job and hang in there. When the crisis is over they always come back big time, bigger than before and you'll be in just the right place, unless there is another part of government that is more stable and interesting. I find loyalty does pay off sometimes, if anything is going too. The trick has a lot to do with learning how to use your intuition and getting the information on social intelligence and/or mentors. The net has plenty on getting ahead at work. It's really smart today to take advantage of all this free information, and the free stuff is the best actually.

Of course it's always possible that the section you are in is too small or something so a second job and study are backups.
