Philosophy is not a science, it is an art. It is classified as part of the humanities in academia. Science can measure and observe phenomenon. Philosophy can assign meaning to those phenomenon.

An example of why philosophy is the highest form of study is the claim by some people that all knowledge can be known to science. In making such an assertion, someone would be claiming something which cannot be proven by science. Rather, such a claim as 'all knowledge is scientific' is actually a philosophical argument.

Philosophy provides the framework for all other intellectual inquiry.

Well, to start with, the main difference is that you spelled science correctly, but butchered philosophy.

(Phylosophy... the act of thinking very deeply about thin, flaky pastry dough.....LOL)

Science and philosophy are both disciplines, but science is more of a physical act, and philosophy is more abstract. Science depends on solid fact, observable, and repeatable data to arrive at it's conclusions. Philosophy isn't dependent on anything. It is merely a mental exercise, and does not prove or disprove anything. Rather than trying to prove the existence of air, philosophy would ponder the question, "Why is there air?"

There is no difference both are a form of science.

in my view referring to philosophy as the highest form of intelligence is redundant. Philosophy is thought.

The dictionary disagrees with me and it is the better reference obviously.

Based on the true definition of philosophy I would agree philosophy is the highest form of thought. All that we do science, play, what ever is based on how we think and make decisions. Philosophy can address how we think at its most fundamental level. Imagination is a key element. It could be said philosophers point the way for science.

With philosophy we can imagine a thing or a pattern with science or other pursuits it can be realized.

Philosophy tries to understand things that science is not able to. Science is based on observation but philosophy goes beyond that.
