Blank screen after start up on PC?

I have a Aspire 8930, which after normal start up, the screen goes blank. Can't do anything, and I cannot get anything to come up. However it seems to be functioning perfectly in safe mode. I am asuming this may be a virus problem,.... or could it be a registry problem, or if would not it work even in safe mode if it were?

Update:

Sorry mis-typed. Wouldn't a damaged registry file somwhere stop the PC working even in safe mode?

Virus sounds reasonable. Try downloading malwarebytes anti-malware in safe mode and scan for anything harmful.

Registry... maybe. If you have ever used a registry cleaner when your computer was working then it may be possible that it has deleted a key accidently. most registry cleaners back up the registry and can be fixed by running the backup.

    I hope I helped.

    Well

Ccleaner is the application I use to clean up my system when my pc slows down because of viruses, trojans or malwares. Free Download here: http://bitly.com/UrASU0

I guess it's the sotware you need.
