vulva redness and irritation?
the past few days i have had pretty bad itching, at first i didnt think anything of it, but from the scratching i made it worse. My discharge is completely normal, i seriously doubt it is a yeast infection. and i also know that it is not a bacterial infection, bc i am currently using a vaginal antibiotic for bv twice a week, for the next 14 or so weeks.
the itching and redness is in my inner vulvar area, both sides. i also have genital herpes but when i look with a mirror i do not see any signs of an outbreak.
the ONLY thing that changed is my laundry soap. i just realized this today, and immediately rewashed everything with the soap that ive normally used.
so, i am assuming that this irritation has come from the change of soaps.
how long will it take for it to go away? get back to normal?
i had been taking benedryl for the past two nights and it temporarily relieved the itching.
i've also been using ointments and desitin to protect it from more irritants, which definitely helps.
please let me know if any of you have experienced this!

No. I've never experienced any of this, but it sounds like you are doing everything needed to take care of the problem. You really should be more careful who you have sex with, that will prevent a lot of these problems.
