Is the bitter vitriol of Christians against atheists here an indication of their inability to act Christ-like?

1. you can't take it too seriously, they're not as bad as the Westboro Baptists.

2. and you can't always know whether they're christians or trolls, so another reason not to take it too seriously.

The OT and OT God are very much UNLIKE the NT & Jesus. Sure he has his moments and has hissy fits but as far as I know, he never actually kills anyone...or orders his followers to. In fact, one thing he said in various ways is 'do not judge'...in the OT, that God is very judgmental and there are times when he obviously expects his followers to be too. You'll find that in many cases, conservative Xians will often use the OT to back up whatever hateful rant they have (BTW, there are over 35,000 Xian sects worldwide-what can you expect when a contradictory & error-ridden book is used))

However, the concept of an after-life and a hell isn't in the OT-that happens in the NT with Jesus & his disciples..

That's another long explanation, full of intentional, and in some cases non, misinterpretation of words like 'sheol' or 'Gethsemane'

First of all these are not real christians even though athiests are challenging them and thats what brings out the bad in most so called christians.

I don't know what you're talking about when you say threatening and being dishonest. I have never done either, and don't know of any Christians on here who have.

It is not a mystery Christians love to hate people. The church at large has lied through their teeth for the past four years about the President of the USA. When they run out of breath and regroup, they start in on homosexuals. When they run out of stuff to lie about them, they start in on women who use birth control. Christians don't read their bibles, they are pew-sitting bobble-heads that enjoy all the hatred they can absorb in one Sunday sermon. I wouldn't expect them to know that one of their own prophets of the Old Testament, Jeremiah, claimed the law was never given to Moses which makes the Christian argument concerning anything a moot point.

There's a difference between Christianity and Churchianty. Dogma of the church is what your talking about.
