Feeding a Hungry Child?
When one takes it upon oneself to turn compassion (karuna) into action(karma) then do you suppose that the starving child will really have any concern as to the religious path you follow?Or will he be too busy eating?
4 AnswersReligion & Spirituality8 years agoWhich gratitude has a greater value?
The gratitude of a deity towards those who worship Him as He demands, or the gratitude of a starving child being fed by a compassionate stranger?
2 AnswersReligion & Spirituality8 years agoThe Everchanging Nature of "Context"?
When a Christian uses the rather dry and uninspiring response "You're taking that quote out of context" why are not one single one of them capable of positing the CORRECT context then? It's like screaming "WRONG" at the top of your lungs, then keeping your mouth shut when asked for clarification.
2 AnswersReligion & Spirituality8 years agoQuestion about spirit animals?
A NA friend of mine told me last week that my spirit animal is the Northeastern Spotted Garden Slug...is this reason enough to Party Like It's 1999? <<does horribly sh*tty Prince imitation>>
5 AnswersReligion & Spirituality8 years agoWhat crosses your Mind when you hear someone speak of "the right religion"?
The "right religion" or....a "real ______________(insert label here)?
17 AnswersReligion & Spirituality8 years agoWhy do we not see ANY Christian Groups protest the hate spewing Westboro Baptist Church?
They carry vile hate filled signs..scream vile insults at the mourners...make a mockery of Christian beliefs...yet we see NO ONE of the Christian faith protesting the actions. It's exactly like Muslims who claim they don't support terrorism, yet fail to speak out against it! Input folks?
7 AnswersReligion & Spirituality8 years agoBased on pragmatism and experiential qualities, which belief system is the most sensible to you?
By " pragmatism and experiential qualities" I mean the actual application of ones faith as opposed to study/rote memorization of dogmatic principles. Thanks in advance for sharing your views...
2 AnswersReligion & Spirituality8 years agoWhat do you folks think is a better position to take: compassion from a place of altruism?
Or compassion based on supporting a religious doctrine? Or do you believe the compassionate act alone is all that matters?
3 AnswersReligion & Spirituality8 years agoThis is an interesting quote of Mohandas Gandhi...Do you agree with it? Or not?
He once stated..."This Christ of yours I admire greatly. Christians on the other hand I do not care for as not a single one of them can act Christ-like." May I have your views on this and my thanks in advance!
12 AnswersReligion & Spirituality8 years agothe 14th Dalai Lama once said..." It is far more important that a man be kind rather than religious"?
I view this as a direction to folks that kindness (and compassion as well) is of greater value/merit to a man than the rote lines of religion...What do YOU think?...Thank you for sharing your views!
5 AnswersReligion & Spirituality8 years agoCan there ever be a real peace between Buddhism and Islam?
As the world becomes smaller and smaller thanks to faster travel, better communication...we find ourselves rubbing shoulders (sometimes literally) with cultures that have had antagonistic relationships for centuries. Given the violent and horrific results of the multiple invasions of Bharat (India) by Islam, do any Buddhists and Muslims think that a real peace will ever be arrived at?
10 AnswersReligion & Spirituality8 years agoIs the bitter vitriol of Christians against atheists here an indication of their inability to act Christ-like?
I have never encountered such bitterness and hate-filled antagonism as that displayed by many of those who rather laughingly call themselves Christian in here. They attack..taunt...insult..lie outright, threaten, use already proven dishonest tactics, yet insist they follow their Christ. I willfully abandoned Christianity over 40 years ago because of this sort of hypocrisy, and am astounded at the blatant hatred many self proclaimed Christians display here. I would love a clear and understandable explanation for this from anyone who thinks they can educate me on the basis for this horrible behavior...
