Why do (antireligious) atheists care about the beliefs of others?
Scientifically, the universe will end sometime. That means that no one will care what happened before the universe ended, correct? Then why are you caring about what religious people think about life? They won't be any more dead and forgotten than you, and it'll be like you never existed in the first place. According to your beliefs, nobody will be around to care how peaceful or violent the world was. Thus it's in your best interest to simply go on about your business, and that's it.
And so many insist on living this life to the fullest. How is that any different than living your life NOT to the fullest? I'm not implying heaven here, I'm implying that according to your beliefs, nobody will be around to care how full or empty your life was unless there's an omniscient force or something to remember it. It's possible that the mere fact we existed might cease to exist someday. The same issue for those who insist that they should try to make a big impact on their family or friends or the world.
So with love and respect, ladies and gentlemen, I ask what your stance is. If you are atheist, I would like to ask you how you think humanity will make an impact on the universe in the future or what makes our actions worthwhile. If you are antireligious, I would like to ask you how will your antireligiousness make you any better off than religious people when you and ultimately the universe kicks the bucket? Thank you.
A lot of you are missing the point. Not you or anybody else will remember the rights you had or who forced their beliefs upon you when you die and everybody else does. People often have a hard time getting their heads around that.

"Now" is an illusion. You're always stuck in between the past and the future. In the past you have memories and things you learned, in the future you have dreams, determination, hopes, and fears.

And who's gonna care about the legislation when the universe ends, again?

The beginning and the end of the universe are not important... the here and now is what matters because that is all that we have. When people are so self-involved that all they can see is their own belief and value systems that they are making the lives of non-believers miserable... or alternatively treating this world as a dirty truck stop on the highway to heaven, it's the responsibly for those with other belief's to stand up for themselves and the rest of the planet.

“Theists, especially Christians, try to control and restrict us based on their views.
If all Christians stop crusading against science, education, culture, art, sex and sexuality, religious freedom and such, stop dishonestly misrepresenting your beliefs as facts, and stop telling everybody else they're going to be tortured throughout eternity unless they join you, I assure you that you won't encounter nearly as much hostility.”

We're working to prevent the christers from causing a repeat.
And, if you really want to claim that all life, and what we do, and how we live is meaningless, then prove that you mean it; Kill your self right now. If you won't, you're a big hypocrite.

Many feel that religion is oppressive and unhealthy and they prefer to see people living healthy lives without oppression because they care.
Proselytizing Christians feel that people who don't subscribe to their religion will burn in Hell, and that's a horrible fate they don't want to happen to anyone because they care.
It's not so different really.
When the end of the universe comes, none of this will matter because there won't be anyone to drink tea and talk philosophy. Both the aforementioned parties believe that until that happens, quality of life (or afterlife) matters. Your life matters to you, doesn't it? I'm sure you don't wake up each morning thinking it won't matter if someone steals your credit card and empties your account, and your kids get molested, because the universe will end some time. Now matters because we have to experience it and happiness is more pleasant than pain.

Have you ever seen those babbling Christians on a kitten video saying "THE HOLY GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST REPENT NOW OR DIE IN HELL FOREVER WITHOUT JESUS DEVIL RAPE DEMONS DEMONS YOU EILL DIE NO ONE CAN LIVE WITHOUT JESUSSSSSSSS *mouth foam* SAMUEL 20202020012:0" Why do they care so much about our beliefs? Err.. non beliefs. Now I am not an atheist (I am agnostic), but it gets really annoying. Most of the Christians I see always attack the non-believers, disrespect them and basically spit on them for not believing. Now don't get me wrong, I have seen quite a few who are very respectful and yet some atheists do say "you know God isn't real right". I guess the point is people don't like people to disagree with them I guess.

nicely I do care about some thing of the global, and being human myself I easily have a vested activity in no longer wanting the human race to bypass extinct, and also in no longer wanting some deranged human beings to interrupt each and every thing for each person else. contained in the lengthy run no longer some thing any individuals does will ever mean some thing, actual, notwithstanding the contributions we made as persons will nonetheless influence humanity and some thing of the global typically. i don't like your question a lot. You sound like a fundamentalist's comic strip of an atheist.

Funny question. It's as if only (pro-religious) theists would be so considerate as to care about the beliefs of others, and yet (antireligious) atheists are being asked why they care about the beliefs of others. I guess this proves that within every inconsiderate theist there's a considerate theist screaming to get out...

My stance is being an atheist doesn't mean that I am against religion, I simply choose not to follow one. I care about the beliefs of others only in regards to the fact that I believe everyone should be free to believe whatever they wish without interference or assumptions about their beliefs from others.

Hypocrisy or ignorance.
Posted in response to a similar question: "One can conclude God does not exist from the exercise of critical thinking skills. However, this type of "true atheist" would tend to be apathetic about atheism itself since the spread or absence of a atheism in the social and political spheres is largely inconsequential to an unbiased observer. Rather than labeling and defining himself as an "atheist, the unbiased observer would be much more likely to adopt social and political titles like philanthropist, liberal, conservative or, spiritually speaking, agnostic."

I work to make my life meaningful because it matters to me whether I find meaning in my own life, not because I think I need to leave a legacy, or because I think there's some kind of cosmic scoreboard. I'm pretty sure there isn't.
I'm pretty much okay with people believing whatever helps them make sense out of the world, as long as their beliefs don't prevent me from living my life.

I do not care at all, what people belief in.....as long, that does not affect my life in an negativ matter.
Famous example: flying planes in building, killing many innocent people. and the reason was: religion.
Not saying all Believers are bad ppl. not at all. of course it were some crazy sick ppl....but they did it, believing they will meet Allah, and its what allah wants them to do.
thats the problem here.
that is why I and fellow atheist care.
Belief what you want, but when that belief starts hurting people, we got a problem.
Its the same reason, why they lock mentaly sick people away. becuase they could cause harm.
