is there a product to use to patch the rubber membrane liner in a tile floored shower?
I need to fix a leak at a shower drain . It's leaking around the outside of the drain which tells me it's the membrane. Is there a product that seals the membrane if I patched it in around the drain about 12" square?

If you have it torn apart this far, replace the whole pan liner if possible.
If your 100% sure its at the drain, cut out some of the bottum and put a new pc in, over lapping the old by a minimum ( more is better) of 3".
Use the proper cleaner and adhesive . This is a different type of PVC adhesive.
Get all things ready and be cafeful. This type of glue is like contact cement. Instant bond because you spread both pcs on pan liner..
Test by poring water into the pan liner because water from a shower pan can come from any where.
Any questions you can e mail me through my avatar and check my qualifications there.
I ve set 100s of pan liners and tiled them w/o a leak.. GL
BTW ... no adhesive ever needed to be used on a proper set pan liner as 1 poster said..

Well you can actually go to a box store like home depot and get the adhesive that should have been used when the liner was installed. It gets used in the corners of the shower and on the curb to meld the seems together. Use that stuff along with a piece of liner that overlaps it and that will seal it up. The leak wouldn't necessarily be at the drain though it could be anywhere on the shower floor and working its way through the mortar bed to the weep holes?
