Can we Help the Trapped Orcas Today?

Can we do our bit and save this family of 11 orcas? I think we can! Please spread the word to help save (= force the Ministry of Fisheries to stop stalling and do what's necessary) the 11 trapped whales in Hudson Bay, you can view the heart-breaking videos and read about it on ihttp://www.globalnews.ca/icebreaker+needed+to+save... with videos and all the details, including the desperate plea of the local mayor). Locals are urging people to contact the Department of Fisheries and Oceans and ask Ottawa to stop stalling and send an ice-breaker and help with the necessary tools asap; quoting verbatim globalnew.ca, the DFO can be reached at (877)-722-5346 or via email to info@dfo-mpo.gc.ca. I apologize to the community but I feel it's necessary to spread the word and do our bit, even if it's just to make a phone call and send an email.

Update:

You know, people (and I'm addressing to the posters who were quite indifferent, ignorant and selfish in their answers, to their own detriment I would add), I wish you stopped defending this ridiculously do-nothing-see-nothing-think-nothing government and started thinking that, at the very least, the problems in Hudson Bay (it'll happen again and again and again) need to be tackled, since nature and such magnificent, intelligent animals are part of the attraction to this country. Or do you actually not care about this country and only think of a few dollars here and there?

I just heard the story on NPR. We cannot help the killer whales today, as much as we want to. Ottawa is not stalling. The nearest icebreaker is 1,000 miles away. The nearest town is not equipped to be able to help. All we can do is hope for the weather. A strong wind would make the hole larger or even create a way for them to escape.
