This question keeps nagging me about an alien race?
Now a couple of days ago, I was watching on the History Channel "Ancient Aliens." A show that says thousands "Believe we have been visited by extra terrestrial beings from another world!" Now I got to thinking on this. . . . IF some well advanced alien race, far more advanced than us were to visit us, and then listen and see our media, and what I meant by that is not only our news agencies (the press) but our entertainment industry as well, and then they end up getting into YA, and the checking out Politics & Government-Politics section of YA, and see some of the answers in here, and then they would proceed to sneak on into our nation's capital-Washington DC, and see ALL of our "Elected" (More like bought and paid for SELECTED) Officials!
What do you think their reaction would be? I would say it would be one of sarcasm like: "To think they actually learned how to harness the atom!"
Your thoughts?

I actually had to stop watching. After a few episodes I realized these "experts" are morons. The whole series actually denigrates the intelligence and engineering of our ancestors. Ours is a species that cam out the gate as smart as now. The difference has always been the singular ability to store and pass on our knowledge.
ANYWAY--- If aliens observe us for long? They'd realize we are too dangerous to interact much with. Let alone come sailing down on the White House lawn to say "Howdy!" Like Commodore Perry did with the Japanese. We're clever and aggressive. Natural meddlers. In no time we'd assimilate their technology, add our own ideas, then proceed to meddle in their lives.
Likely both religiously and politically. If, I were an alien? I'd quarantine Earth. Any human past Pluto gets wasted at the edge. Hands off Earth and observe only. Humans need no encouragement.

In one of my favorite book series the aliens don't communicate with language, so they wouldn't even recognize all this as a way of communication. They wouldn't even know it exists. So if somehow these amazing aliens are so well advanced that they not only are able to communicate in the same way, but they also can understand English without having much contact directly with us, they would probably already think we are stupid and all this would just be further evidence of the fact.

Ancient Aliens proves that the History Channel is Junk Tube.

Compare the reactions of our earthly anthropologists who investigate primitive tribes that have (in some respects) relatively sophisticated abilities yet other bizarre, unexplainable practices, I think that aliens would look at us much the same way... Yeah, we have made some pretty remarkable advances in our time, but we do some pretty stupid stuff as well.
I guess their reaction might be summarized as, "This is an interesting race... Let's watch them and see what they do next."

The premise of Ancient Aliens is that we could not have gotten as smart as we are without Aliens teaching us.
Which of course begs the question... "How did THEY get smart"?

I think they'd just quietly back away and leave us alone! Or, they could see us as a future potential threat and just stand off and exterminate us!
