Murder mystery games?
Why is it socially acceptable to play "murder mystery games" but not "rape mystery games"? Is it because most victims of murder are men and most victims of rape are women? If 80% of murder victims were women, you can bet your bottom dollar "murder mystery games" would not be socially acceptable.
Why is rape seen as more serious than murder? Are crimes in which there are more female victims than male victims worse?

because murder is not condoned
but rape often is
that is why only some people would find playing the rape game uncomfortable...
take gender studies for instance - no one can get away with playing the murder game
but lots of people get away with the rape game - even though the rules state something else entirely
you do not deserve any stars for this question - in my opinion

This is interesting - I played one with a couple of couples - I think there were 6 of us - 3 couples and it was fun - I was the murderer - which made it even more fun for me.
If you put the idea of rape in it, it indeed would have made it uncomfortable I think for all. In fact I don't think they could market it at all. The idea of rape has so much stigma and baggage associated with it. So many women have been raped (in our group - there was at least one that had been). These women would not want to be reminded of this experience. Murder is so much clearer and simpler and the victims are dead so are not being forced to relive it.

With a rape, if the victim knows her (or his) attacker, then it's just a matter of getting the victim to make a report. With a murder, the victim can't ID his/her murderer, ever...unless you believe in spirits in the afterlife being able to contact the living.
That reminds me, I need to buy tickets for the mystery dinner theater this month. I love those things!

I actually had the same thought the other day, but my point was, why are video games like Grand Theft Auto acceptable but there are very very few games involving rape.
Murder is worse than rape.
