Is it okay to eat this strawberry jam?

I bought some strawberry jam at the store, and when I put the bag with the jam in the trunk, I accidentally put it too close to the edge. The trunk of my car has no barrier to make sure nothing falls out when you open it (a toyota 4runner). When I opened the trunk at home, it fell out and shattered on the driveway, which just had some dust. Now, it didn't shatter completely. I have already thrown away the part of the jam that actually touched the ground, but is it okay to eat the jam that wasn't close the the walls of the jar? How can I make sure that I don't actually eat any tiny pieces of glass? Is it okay? What do you think?

I would definitely be concerned about small shards of glass which might have been shot through the jelly all the way to the other side of the jar. What did it cost, two dollars? Toss it!

  • Sorry but the Jam is not consumable.

    Why

The jar shattered and has sent splinters of glass in the Jam.

Have you ever broken a regular glass on the floor? did you notice how many fragments it broke into?

    The same with the Jam..

Why risk a $3.50 purchase for a medical emergency?

    Does this make sense?

Jam is not too expensive just buy a new jar. It's not worth accidentally swallowing some of the broken glass along with the jam.

I wouldn't try to rescue it because there may indeed be tiny pieces of glass in the jam, even if you're careful. Jam is cheap enough--just buy another jar.

First, make an commentary of this: you won't be able to tell IF A food IS extra healthful for human consumption by scent OR visual allure!!!! Repeat that out loud 10 situations and write it down. a thank you to tell if food is risk-free is thru understanding the way it turns into risky. it particularly isn't the question for a whole rationalization. i urge each physique to evaluation approximately food risk-free practices... google FightBac or food risk-free practices and perform a little examining... it ought to keep you some high quality time with your commode!!!! The jam can no longer harm you, no count if that's nicely-known, sugary candy jam. The intense quantity of sugar prevents water being attainable (called water interest) for pathogenic micro organism to enhance. no count if that's decrease sugar, say made with Splenda, it ought to enable the improve of pathogens.... toss it. ingredients that are preserved with lots of sugar and/or salt might improve yeast or mildew by using the years which will smash them, yet maximum micro organism won't be able to enhance in such ingredients.
