How to respond when one child is in trouble and the other...?

is wanting some praise for being good? I have 5 yr old twins and this always happens, one of them will be in trouble for whatever reason so the other will swoop in and tell me how good they are behaving. I don't want to say yes you are and have the other one feel bad, but I don't like to ignore their being good behavior either

Have you had that happen and how did you respond to the one being good but kinda gloating about it?

If one is in trouble, then they're both aware of it. Assuming they both do this when the other is in trouble, it doesn't sound like they have self-esteem problems. So there's nothing wrong with saying, 'Yes, you are behaving well. Thank you.' No need to make a big deal of it, but equally it's good to acknowledge.

This is where we take the time to explain that this is not the time to brag about things.
