Can they use my income for new husbands Child support?
I am planning on getting married to a man that has 3 children he pays Child Support for..My question is His Ex-wife has been making comments about how she was waiting for us to get married so she could take him back to court for more support.. Can they use my income as a factor in raising child support??
We live in Indiana-- He is paying his Child Support faithfully and is not behind-- Ex is just a money hungry @%^#$#&*&*^@%#

Yes they can when you marry someone all their debts become yours. I wouldn't marry someone with these problem anyway why would you paying child support even come up? Is his ex a ***** trying to get more money or is he not taking care of responsibility don't marry a loser. My dad owed my mom 15000 in child support and guess who has been paying it? His wife because of her he is down to 12000. Have fun with that! BTW my sister and I are 21 and 23 employed and I have kids now and he is still required by law to pay my mom
There's no getting around being a dead beat dad.

I think they can. I have a friend that wants to get married and she hired an attorney to make sure her income would not be counted for her new husbands child support. Might vary by state.

It depends on what state you live in. But in general, no.
However, it may be considered if the ex files for public assistance for the kids or if your marriage allows your husband to avoid an expense...such as him moving into your home that does not have a mortgage.
Your fiance should consult an attorney.

In most cases, no.
YOU didn't marry her, and YOU didn't father a child with her. HE is responsible, not you.
If your fiance is NOT making his payments on time, or is otherwise a general ***hole, the judge could get pissed, and find any way he wants!

Nope, you cannot be held financially responsible for children that aren't yours. The ex is an idiot.

Actually, they can't. but I will suggest you hire an attorney. Get all things clear, if any document need to create/submit then you can do accordingly.
