For three reasons:
1. They confirm my experiences.
2. They are confirmed by many other people's experiences.
3. They make the most sense to me.
I was a Lutheran while I was growing up. Then I became an atheist when I was a teenager and began learning a lot more about science in school, as most thinking people do. However, I still had a "nagging suspicion" that there was "more" going on then what the materialistic world view of science seemed to say there was, so I continued to investigate. At 24 I discovered a Center for Spiritual Living, which teaches the Science of Mind spiritual philosophy, and it confirmed everything I had experienced spiritually up to that point. As I studied that philosophy, and others, and continued my spiritual practice, which has has continued to lead to more spiritual experiences, I came to the understanding that one can believe in "God", without having to literalize the mythologies that surround most of the ancient theologies and religions. One does not have to throw the baby out with the dirty bathwater, so to speak.
That is why I believe what I believe. Thanks for asking. :-)
Peace and Namaste!

I was raised as a Catholic, went to church with my folks, until I was 19, then departed from going...but was still a Christian, in that I believed in Jesus and God. Later years, I was still in that holding pattern, until recently....arriving here on Y A...and learning a lot from these questions.
I now not believe, but instead I KNOW...God exists, because I can see what He has done, and from what I know, it is not possible to get all this done, just by random selection.
Things are way to complex, for something randomly choosing.
For instance, the location of our Solar System, in relation to the Black Hole of the Milky Way. Had we been positioned any closer to the black hole, we would be getting too much radiation. So where we are, is just the right exact place to be. But this could only happen with ONE attempt. More then one, and the galaxy would be different and it would not be possible for a second or third attempt. The solar system was put where it was, and it cannot be moved.
Secondly, the location of the sun, being where it is not too close and too hot, nor too far away to not heat up the Earth at all. Only one attempt at putting IT where it is. moving it could mean it going out into space, never to return. There is no random choices there.
And the speed of the Earth's rotation...just right for the purpose. It warms the Earth and then cools it down...allowing for life to flourish. Again...if the Earth was spinning at a different rate, we would NOT be here. No random choice here, either.
And I have not even began about the creatures who could not possibly been evolved....they would have died in the process.
People cannot see Gravity, but accept it, they cannot see the Wind, but accept it...and we cannot see God...but some will not accept it...they want God to be Visible, like a human. But God is NOT human, nor is Gravity nor the Wind, human. So why should any of them, show up as humans?
My faith in God is much stronger now, thanks to this web site. Those people who contest my beliefs, make me see my weakness and then I just become all the stronger for it.

I believe anything in the Bible because the Bible has been proven factual.
The Bible was written over a 1,600-year period. Its writers lived at different times and came from many walks of life. Some were farmers, fishermen, and shepherds. Others were prophets, judges, and kings. The Gospel writer Luke was a doctor. Despite the varied backgrounds of its writers, the Bible is harmonious from beginning to end. The Bible is scientifically accurate. It even contains information that was far ahead of its time. For example, the book of Leviticus contained laws for ancient Israel on quarantine and hygiene when surrounding nations knew nothing about such matters. At a time when there were wrong ideas about the shape of the earth, the Bible referred to it as a circle, or sphere. (Isaiah 40:22) The Bible accurately said that the earth ‘hangs on nothing.’ (Job 26:7) Of course, the Bible is not a science textbook. But when it touches on scientific matters, it is accurate. Is this not what we would expect of a book from God?
A mere “explosion” could not create our awesome universe with its amazing order, design and law. Only a mighty organizer and lawmaker could direct the powerful forces at work so that they would result in superb organization and law. Hence, scientific evidence and reason provide solid backing for the Bible’s declaration: “The heavens are declaring the glory of God; and of the work of his hands the expanse is telling.”—Psalm 19:1. Thus, the Bible comes to grips with questions that evolutionary theory has not clearly addressed. Instead of leaving us in the dark as to what is behind the origin of all things, the Bible tells us the answer simply and understandably. It confirms the observations of science, as well as our own, that nothing comes into existence by itself. Although we personally were not on hand when the universe was constructed, it is evident that it had to have a Master Builder, as the Bible reasons: “Every house is constructed by someone, but he that constructed all things is God.”—Hebrews 3:4.

It's the best answer for evil and suffering in the world. Mankind is mostly evil; Even the good are somewhat evil. The Christian faith has the clearest, logical answers to life in all circumstances of life. If we sin, we owe a debt; Christ paid that debt for us. No sin will enter heaven, therefore we enter heaven now and later. It's the best solution. We also believe in science as far as it goes.

I believe the White Sox will win the World Series this year. I want it to be true, but seeing as there's not a lot of concrete evidence, I wouldn't bet my house on it.

I believe in the Bible because after careful study I have concluded that it could not be man made in origin.
There is no other book like it, therefore I believe it and follow it because I believe it is very very important.

I don't believe in supernatural gods, I do however understand the natural world in an objective way, which is not the same as 'believing'.
