Iran asks; Would a fatwa banning nukes be enough?

According to some (see article at link), Iran hopes a religious decree banning nuclear weapons will be enough to loosen itself from international pressure and sanctions.

Would such a religious decree be enough for the Western nations to accept Iran's desire for joining the nuclear age (as far as generating electric power goes)?

(I am assuming this "religious decree" is a "fatwa," but the article doesn't use that term.)

Iran is theocracy which includes democracy, meaning that they have parliament and government. The president is chosen by nation's direct votes. The members of the parliament are also chosen by the direct vote of people. But there is another power over this organs that is the leader which is a religion expert. This leader is chosen by nation's vote too, but indirectly. People vote to many religious experts and these experts choose the best expert in religion expert. This leader has duties, some of them are:

    - Watching law and rules made by the parliament to be not against of the religion

    - Solving problems that can't be solved by normal and usual ways

    - Determining the country's future image and ways to reach it

When the leader says according to religion, something is forbidden, it is forbidden and no one is allowed to do it, because he is the expert and no one is beyond him in understanding the religion which is the God's orders for a better life. It is called fatwa.

The leader is supposed to be the best person in the country, meaning that he should be innocent and hadn't done anything against religion in all his life. So the probability that he's wrong is near to zero. I have to mention that whenever the experts that choose the leader find out that he's not the best in the country and has done something wrong, they can change him.

The leader of Iran has said that researching and seeking and having nuclear bombs is forbidden and nuclear plans should just have peaceful reasons, according to religion, so as I said the highest power in the country has maid it illegal and forbidden. If this is not enough for the western governments, nothing will be.

No...Hell no. They are crazy if they think their twisted barbaric religion is going to do the trick.
