Microwaving bacon problem?

I've tried and failed many times at microwaving bacon and it always fails. My parents do it perfectly nice and crispy every time, but when I do it I get a semi-burnt half pink half brownish black color looking bacon that's hard to the touch. The way they taught me was: For each slice of bacon = 1 minute in the microwave, and put the bacon between two paper towels and some newspaper underneath to catch any grease. But when I do that, I get the same crappy bacon. Does anyone have any tips on how to microwave the perfect bacon?

    My guess is that you need a better microwave. I do it all the time and it turns out great just the way your parents describe. Do you have a rotating base? If not, get one.

    I have never had a problem microwaving bacon. I place it on paper towels, turn it after a few minutes and it is done. Quick and easy way to cook it. instead of frying it.
