Trying to shift weight - only exercise is walking?
I am trying to lose a good bit of weight, roughly 50 pounds. On what I am eating normally, the weight was going neither up nor down however I was getting very little exercise a day. I have now started walking to get my youngest from school (a round trip of over 3 miles). Will this be enough to start shifting the weight? I had ankle surgery after a bad accident which has left me struggling to do other exercises (such as running) that put too much pressure on the bad side.

Yes walking is a very good exercise.
If you want to make it more beneficial, after about a
week of walking increase the speed walking home.
You'll be at a leisurely pace walking to school with the little one.
That means you'll be warmed up to increase the speed walking home.
I don't mean trot or jog, just walk a little faster.
You'll see results pretty quick.
