What was your favorite pet as a child or adult?

There were always cats on the farm. All of them were my pets.

We had an old farm dog who really belonged to my brothers and who passed of old age and a hard life shortly after my brothers joined the service.

When I was nine my brother came driving up with a big grin on his mug, got out of the car, and handed me a little curly black ball of fur with big feet, floppy ears, and the softest brown eyes. My Cocker Spaniel I named with great imagination, Curly. I was charged with the job of having him field ready to hunt by the time he returned from his tour of duty in Korea.

I did that, and gained the best little buddy a kid could have. Wise brother I had who knew just what a little kid would need who had older brothers and sisters who were fast growing up and leaving home.

My favorite was a cat named Yoda. He was called that because he was the runt of the litter with great big ears. He grew to be an extra large cat who was not afraid of anything. I used to call him speed demon kitty because he would run full speed through the 2 story house. He also would bring fresh game (birds etc) to the end of my bed as a present. One time I got mad at him and threw him out the sliding glass doors, a few minutes later I heard this loud bang bang bang. I found him on the outside of the screen door clinging to the top and banging the screen door over and over. I gave up and had to let him back in before he woke up the whole neighborhood.

I've only had one pet in my life, and that's the dog I have now. She's a little sweetie, and I wish I had started a lot earlier having pets. I feel like I'm too old to get another one when she goes.

I still miss my last dog which was a reverse brindle Boxer named Zoey. She lived to be 12 years old and I still miss her to this day. She was so sweet and a crazy fun girl.

Every pet I had was my favorite while it was alive. I still can't choose just one. We had 4 Pekingese dogs over my childhood years and each was unique and special.

I had a blind cat for eleven years before she got sick and I had to have my brother shoot her because I couldn't pull the trigger. Out here in the boonies that is how sick animals are dealt with.

I liked turtles. Always wanted one with a painted shell until I found out it killed them.

A German-Sheppard dog. He lived to be many yrs old and died of old age.

A black and white male Maine Coon cat. My favorite baby by far.
