no start condition 1985 c10 electrical related?
1985 C10 305/700r4 this past week it started to click(solenoid would engage) but not turn over. a few then many turns of the key before it started. I replaced the ignition switch the one behind the dash not the lock cylinder. now it gets nothing reading on its voltmeter. and wont even click.

the solenoid could be the issue. if you are good with cars, id drop the starter and separate the solenoid. there will be a copper washer in that. it can get to be a very rough surface that can have a hard time completing the circuit. i have used a file to clean that up along with the two contacts inside of that cap on the solenoid. it has worked for me on my own car so i had to make the suggestion.

Power flows from the battery to the ign switch. From there it flows on the yellow wire to the neutral safety switch. It leaves the neutral switch on a purple wire and goes to the starter solenoid. So test for voltage at the solenoid on the purple wire and work your way back to the ign switch.
