What juicer should I purchase?
I am interested in juicing and am willing to spend up to $400 for a good juicer. From the research I have done I am leaning towards masticating juicers.
In addition to juicing I would love a unit that can make:
-baby food
-nut butters
Ideally, I want a high yield, little foam, and no heat. I don't mind a little clean up, as long as it doesn't require an incredible amount of time.
I am open to other types beyond masticating if you have suggestions.
What brands and models would you suggest?

I've been using an Omega VRT350 (vertical masticating) for a while now and it's amazing. The juice quality is fantastic and it doesn't produce much foam. It's not too bad to clean, the worst part being the screen. It came with a cleaning brush though and it's just a case of making sure you get all the little bits off it. It cost me $380 from Amazon but they do a deal on it every now and then.

A friend of mine also has an Omega but it's the J8006 (horizontal masticating). It's also a great juicer and great for making baby food, nut butters etc. It was cheaper than my VRT350 at around $300. They do cheaper models in the 8000 series but the J8006 has the toughest auger which is a must!

Omega offers a long warranty of between 10-15 years on their juicers (depending on the model). This is a lot longer than most juicer manufacturers.
Anyway those would be my recommendations!
Don't listen to people telling you that juicing is bad for you because of "the sugar". Sugar in fruits is not the same as refined sugar. Plus juicing does not remove all of the fiber from the juice, especially with a good masticating juicer like the VRT350. You're also going to want to juice lots of vegetables (which are more nutirent dense than fruits) and establish a balance of both fruits and vegetables in your juices.
Hope this helps!

Skip the juicer because juice is harmful diabetes-inducing sugar water (oh, what, the guys marketing juicers claim otherwise? I'm shocked!).
Nut butter on the other hand is a great idea. Instead of a juicer get a food processor to make baby food and nut butters and you can get a good one for a heck of a lot less than $400.
There, I just saved you money and prevented you from getting obese and diabetic. You're welcome.
