Can people in the army wear rings?

I wanted to get my bf and I matching promise rings before he leaves for the army, but I don't even know if you can wear rings in the army. My question has nothing to do with getting him a ring so I don't want anybody to comment about that. My question is just, are people who go into the army allowed to wear rings? I mean married men still go into the army so are they allowed their rings? Would my bf be allowed to wear his?

In boot camp, jewelry other than a wedding band is prohibited, and should be left at home.

(see heading "Items you may not bring." under Army and National Guard.)

After boot camp, regs for jewelry in uniform are less strict.

    1-14. Wear of jewelry

    a. Soldiers may wear a wristwatch, a wrist identification bracelet, and a total of two rings (a wedding set is considered one ring) with Army uniforms, unless prohibited by the commander for safety or health reasons. Any jewelry soldiers wear must be conservative and in good taste. Identification bracelets are limited to medical alert bracelets and MIA/POW identification bracelets. Soldiers may wear only one item on each wrist.

In normal clothes, pretty much anything goes.

When I was flying in the Navy we called any ring an aviator or maintenance person wore an "Idiot Ring." We also sometimes called people who wore them "Stumpy."

Wearing rings in the military is a good way to lose a finger. We also wore our wristwatches with velcro bands so they would rip off the band caught on something...without taking a hand with it.

Common sense should tell people in the military to wear rings ONLY when there is zero possibility of doing anything which might make them a risk. Same goes for heavy watch bands.

Generally yes but there are exceptions....for example....Paratroopers do not wear rings while jumping.....often aircraft maintenance people do not wear rings on the job.... it is possible for a ring to get caught on something and cause injury.....

but generally most military personnel can and do wear rings

he's no longer required by using any regulation to positioned on a marriage ring. in actuality many infantrymen do no longer positioned on one at a similar time as on duty because of the fact they do no longer prefer to get it dented and banged up at a similar time as working and training. besides the incontrovertible fact that the militia would not know "separated." there is merely married, and not married. The officer you're seeing is committing against the regulation by using relationship a married woman.

Rings can be a safety hazard, but there is no problem with wearing a ring on your dog tags.

yes, i think if you are married then you may wear a ring as long as it doesn't interfere with day to day operations

marriage rings are considered "religious wear"

and cannot be told not to wear them..

petty things like "Promise rings" are not of faith and cannot be worn.

if its not government issued then minus well not bring it at all.
