What does it mean when your not straight, but not gay either?

I'm asking because a guy friend I have says he's not gay, but not straight either. I'm pretty much the only person he would want to hang around after he gets out of school. He's just confusing. We have been best friends for 3 years now. He'll check me out and then when I say something, he'll go, "Well, I'm a boy." He says he's liked girls in the past, but it resulted into too much drama. He kinda fell in love with his video games. (playing 100 hours at a time) We've been to eachother's houses and he often says I'm perfect and I'm his favorite girl in the world. So, with saying those things, checking me out constantly, getting upset when I don't sit on him or let him hold me in public, and other things, it's hard to believe he doesn't find girls attractive.

He has to be lying about something. But what is he lying about?
