In terms of consciousness, and being... who are YOU?
If our bodies are all vessels of a soul, and there is in fact some part of the human psyche that moves on to another realm, what part of you is the part that moves on? Is it the consciousness, or the self-awareness. Are these two identities one and the same? And could your sould be identified as your own self-awareness? Please explain what you believe this to be.
Add on: Great responses so far. I was looking for more of a personal POV of what you perceive to be your "self". Go with that.

What I refer to as 'I' or 'me' is a point of view. The rest of me, my body, is stuff to be recycled in the future.

There is no indication that there is a soul. So any conjecture is just mental masturbation.

Soul does not exist. It is all mumbo jumbo made up to explain the chemical processes and electrical impulses in our brains.

Our consciousness & self awareness developes in the brain. The brain dies when we die.

your spirit is another demention of reality
your spirit talks to God from the heart and soul
