While reading Ezekiel's account of his observations of several flying objects, I was impressed with his objectivity. He did not assign known terminology or modes of transportation to his sighting, but did his best to rationally describe what he was observing. For instance, he didn't call it a chariot of fire, like the writer who described Elijah being taken away. Instead, he described it as a bisected, rotating wheel (wheel within a wheel translation is not accurate), something that a modern scientist with a little thought can build a somewhat realistic picture of. Jesus said he was not of this world (alien). He also said that the creation of everything, which he accomplished/assisted with, included the creation of gods; mankind (read St. John). The definition of a god is an immortal being. From personal experience, you know that someday your body will wear out or it will die; but you are greater than the sum of your physical parts and your being is not reliant on them. Our conscious being will live on. because he made us in his image. Which brings us back to the question: why can't the God of creation give himself a body and have a society in a distant world that he is willing to invite us to live in with him? I think this reveals volumes about his giving personality.

Arthur C. Clarke's famous pronouncement, and I agree completely
Not my favorite SF author though
And no I don't think it necessarily implies a single thing about what religious people believe
I think you could fit it into a deist sort of mentality very easily though

Gods are not gods simply because they are not anything. Gods are mythical.

I think you'll find that a lot of people can't tell you how, exactly, microwave ovens work.

If you have the brains and the balls to understand the technology, then no.
Otherwise, yes.
