I need some insight about heat and my cat's crazy behavior.?

My cat is 9 months old, and she is in the heat, I can tell. She is much more affectionate then she usually is, and she is going nuts. Crazy. Yelling. Wanting to get out.

I am going to get her fixed this spring and I don't want to risk pregnancy. So I keep her inside. She drives me nuts tho.

She doesn't eat much at all. Drinks almost nothing.

So I have two questions.

1. Is there any way to calm her down, without letting her out?

2. How long does it take? (I mean this crazy heat)

Thanks in advance!

I have dealt with many females in heat and it is hard. They are crying, scratching doors, yelling, and it can be really miserable.

First of all, you can end it anytime by getting her spayed, yes even when they are in heat.

Second, you can give her lots of attention by petting her and especially when she raisers her rear up.

Third, you can insert a qtip into the vagina for a little relief. I know it is gross, but it will give her some relief.

try Bach's flower. Worked great for my male cat. You can get it off amazon or at a pet store, you put it in their food or behind their ears
