Abraham, Issac, and Jesus. The connection?

I had a previous question about old testament prophecy and Jesus. In this question, I have many questions in hope to conjure an educated and precise answer about the Messiah from a Jewish point of view. I mentioned the Daniel prophecy of 70 weeks. I was not satisfied by the jewish community in their answer. I was curious if the Messiah was suppose to have come sometime within the building of the second temple and it's destruction in 70 A.D. Does'nt that mean they have missed the Messiah? What about Pslams 110:1? Who is the Lord sitting at the right hand of the Lord? How can the Messiah be the son of david and also the Son of God? What about the term Elohim and the Trinity? Why did God command the sacrifice spotless lambs on passover? What would that mean when Jesus died on Passover? What does the feast of Passover itself suppose to foreshadow? What are the other Rituals and Feasts God has commanded suppose to foreshadow? Do you think the separation of the Spring and Fall feasts also tell us something about a first and second comming of the Messiah? Do you think that by works (like most world views) you can bridge the gap between righteous God and sinful man by observance of the torah? How is the House of Israel and Judah suppose to reconcile? What about the story of Abraham and the priest/king Melchezidek who was priest king of salem? Do you think that also points to the manner of the Messiah? I was watching a presentation by a Mr. Ravi Zacharis and I was inspired by his words because I had long forgotton the connection between Abraham, Issac and Jesus. Some commented that Jews do not believe in human sacrifice when I commented about the Lamb of God being Jesus. Genesis 22:1-12. Don't you think that the story of Abraham foreshadowed the manner in which the Messiah was suppose to come? Why is the first born of anything have any meaning in God's plan? Do not many of the stories in the old testament point to the Messiah. Do you think God has a plan to redeem ALL of his sons and daughters or just the Jews ? Since Jews and Christians both view the Messiah as a very pivotal person in the Bible would'nt the whole of scripture be riddled with evidence to suggest the manner in which he would come? What about the child of the promise Issac who God commanded Abraham to go up unto the mountain to sacrifice? Instead, stayed Abraham's hand and replaced the sacrifice? Why do you think God did this? Were there not other ways to test a man's faith? What was the reason? Just a test of faith? Or something deeper? I would like to add also that there will never be a third temple in Jerusalem because Jesus is the Temple. Emporer Julian tried to defy this by having it rebuilt and the only result was the removal of more rubble of the site . To seal the deal... the muslims now have built the dome of the rock on the very site of the worldy temple in Jerusalem. I ask again in this question. What do you think God has been telling the Jewish people and the world for the past 2000 years? Thank you and God Bless.

Let's start with a definition of the word "Jew". Most people believe that the people called "Jews" today are the same as those called "Jew" in the Bible. This is a fallacy. The New Testament word rendered "Jew" today should actually be rendered "Judean". Judean means an inhabitant of Judea. Nothing more, nothing less. The word Jew as used today means something else entirely.

A quote from Ben Freedman, former Jew turned Christian, "But the implications, inferences, and innuendoes today conveyed by these two words are as different as black is from white. The word "Jew" today is never regarded as a synonym for "Judean" nor is "Judean" regarded as a synonym for "Jew". "

What does "Jew" mean today? This is a difficult question, as the people who call themselves by this name can't give a satisfactory answer. I think of "Judaism" as an institution, an organization, a club. The Jews themselves can't agree if it is a religion or a race or a nation. Therefore, I call it a club. It is a club exclusive to those of a certain bloodline. No others may be admitted. It is a club that holds to many creeds, not all of them religious. Included in these creeds are: belief in the Talmud, belief in being the "chosen race" of God, disbelief in Jesus Christ, and belief in the holocaust. Any man who rejects any of these creeds is rejected from the Jewish club. Therefore, there is no such things a Jew who believes in Christ. One is either a Jew or a Christian, one cannot be both.

One more thing is necessary in the definition of a Jew. And that is an overview of his racial origins. Contrary to popular belief and to what the Jews themselves tell us Gentiles, the Jew is not a descendant of the Hebrews, he is a descendant of the Khazars. Yes, the vast majority of Jews are Khazars in origin and not Hebrews in origin. Only a small number can trace their ancestry back to Palestine. "Why did God command the sacrifice spotless lambs on passover". A foreshadow to Christ. An interesting fact was that Christ was born in a manger. This could be an analogy to how the people of Israel raised lambs in their homes to be sacrificed on the passover.

"Do you think that by works (like most world views) you can bridge the gap between righteous God and sinful man by observance of the torah?" Everybody falls short of the glory of God. Nobody can bridge that gap completely. Righteousness requires not only works but also faith.

"How is the House of Israel and Judah suppose to reconcile". Through Christ this can happen. The house of Israel, the 10 tribes, is lost. They are numbered now (and in Christ's day) among the nations refered to in the bible. Christ commanded spreading the evangel to the nations. This is how the houses can be reconciled.

"Don't you think that the story of Abraham foreshadowed the manner in which the Messiah was suppose to come?" Yes.

"Why is the first born of anything have any meaning in God's plan?" Perhaps because Christ had to be first born of Mary for that birth to be miraculous (otherwise it woulnd't be a virgin birth). Also, Israel is a symbol of God's firstborn, whose God's word went to first, and the nations are his other children.

"Do you think God has a plan to redeem ALL of his sons and daughters or just the Jews ?" ALL. He is to be "All in All".

"Instead, stayed Abraham's hand and replaced the sacrifice? Why do you think God did this? Were there not other ways to test a man's faith? What was the reason? Just a test of faith? Or something deeper?" The reason was to test his faith. It also can be linked to Christ's sacrifice. Christ was blemishless, innocent, just like Isaac.

"I would like to add also that there will never be a third temple in Jerusalem because Jesus is the Temple" I disagree. I believe the Jews in Israel will build their third temple (It will not house God though) and this will signal the coming of the anti-Christ. But Jesus is the temple, correct.

"What do you think God has been telling the Jewish people and the world for the past 2000 years?" He has been telling the Jews to repent and to turn to Christ. Judaism is cursed by with three curses. The curse of the fig tree. Mark 11:12-14. "By no means may anyone still be eating fruit of you for the eon." The curse of Desolation. Matt 23:28-29 "Lo! Left is your house to you desolate." The curse of Deicide. Matt 27:25-26 "His blood be on us and on our children!" Only by converting to Christianity can they lift these curses from themselves.

I believe that it used to be on the very equal spot ! When Issac requested Abraham the place the lamb was once for the sacrifice, Abraham informed him, "God will provide himself a lamb." was He effectively stalling so as to be misleading, or was he within the know about God's plans that this event would coincide with one day ? A majority of these parallels are in all places the location in scripture, mainly between the 2 testaments.

Abraham is willing to sacrifice Isaac his only son and God instead of letting him provides a way of escape for him. Alternatively, God is willing to sacrifice His Son and does so for the sake of all mankind Jews and Gentiles. Jews are not the only ones who will be saved on the day of Jesus' return but Gentiles also and any other man, woman or child who believes that He lived, died and rose again and keeps His commandments. And, yes, many of the old testament stories were mirrors to the events of the new testament. And in the book of Daniel it was fortold of the coming Messiah.

I know this only answers a few of your many questions, but it's a start.

It looks to me, and please don't be offended, that you should study the scriptures for yourself and let the Spirit (who is alive in you) lead you and guide you to the truth. It shall set you free.

    Simple. Because:

Matthew 16:12 King James Version (KJV)

Then understood they how that he bade them not beware of the leaven of bread, but of the doctrine of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees.

Jews keep following that same doctrine, thats why.
