What exactly (more exactly) do you do in the CIA's NCS (internship)?
What exactly (more exactly) do you do in the CIA's NCS (internship)?
So I have been told that the CIA is a great place to intern if I am studying politics, and that they are always taking in Politics Majors as interns. I think this would really be interesting, plus the fact that many of their internships have a lot of benefits and pay. I looked at their site and was taken by the National Clandestine Service, but of course the description of what they do was painfully vague. Does anyone know what jobs they have/do in the NCS and what is offered for undergraduate interns to do/what those internship jobs entail? As much info as possible is preferable. Thanks

This is the military section. But luckily for you, I actually know a decent amount about this.
Here is a link about an internship working with the NCS. You'll basically get the boring jobs to help out the NCS workers, but that's just like saying you'll be the worst player in the NBA All Star Game.

You should know that the NCS internship program is meant to prepare young students interested in a career in the NCS for their next to becoming a full-time NCS worker. That next step is the Professional Trainee program, but that's a WHOLE other topic. But here's a link: https://www.cia.gov/careers/opportunities/clandest... Therefore, if you're not set about getting a career in the NCS, I'd reccomend a different internship program at the CIA.

there extremely competitive first you need a federally issued "security clearance" then you have to put in maximum effort and also you gotto work for free as in unpaid otherwise they will easily find somebody else as far as after the internship goes thats probably all there is internship cause in the first place uncle sam is running out of money and no they wont print money to fund your employment but if your willing to work for free as in no money i could imagine you becoming a senior operative within the you know what ; ) which only a few people know where

I pretty sure its nothing cool since you probably need specific security clearances. You likely will do stuff no one else wants to do like building spreadsheets or compiling notes and data from different places like whiteboards and scribbles.

you will fetch coffee, donuts and the occasional Chinese lunch. Interns are nothing but dogsbodies there to do all the grunt work.
