could i have better handled this conversation with my wife?

She said she lost weight down to 214 pounds, so i said "another 20 pounds lost and you'll down to 'just fat'".

    194 isn't fat, it's grossly obese!

    Be honest with the heffer... she'll never stop pounding Triple Stuffed Oreos by the fistful if you don't.

    Yes, you could have better handled it. First you could have congratulated her on her hard work and success and let her know you have faith that she will make it another 20. Be kind my dear. This is your wife and the woman you love. Show her some heart. You may not be much of a prize either...think about that.
