Assembling a desktop computer?

Pls let me know if the below specs are fine for assembling a desktop computer.

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-B75M-D3H

Processor: Intel core i3 2120 3.3 Ghz

RAM: ADATA 2 x 4 GB DDR3 SDRAM 1333MHz

Graphic card: ASUS GT 2101 GB DDR3 (pls advice if required)

Optical drive: Blu Ray writer(not decide on the maker)

O.S: Windows 7 Home Premium

Presently I have a Lenovo 6306 A11 desktop computer which is very slow (1 GB RAM always runs at 75% / OS WIN 7 / Intel ATOM processor).

I am planning to retain the following to reduce cost.

PSU: 280 W (pls advice if its ok with the new specs)

HDD: Hitashi Deckstar 160 GB SATA 3.0 Gb/s 7200 rpm

Monitor: Lenovo HD monitor (20")

Also pls advice if the lenovo cabinet can be utilised or do I have to go for a new one.

My use of computer is for internet usage, watching movies and occasional games (kids).

RAM of the computer which you hold already in Lenovo is 1 GB but you do it 2 GB.But the Atom is the worst processor. i3 if you buy get latest generation one. RAM 4 GB is OK.GO for 8 GB. Hard Disk take out from the computer which you use and add with new hard disk if u like.Good Specification. Go for it. If you need a graphics Card for gaming then go for ATI RADEON HD 6000 and 7000 series.which ranges between 5000> Power should be 500 watts if you need games card then.

in case you wanna bypass for a sturdy Gaming pc sick choose those aspects : a million. Motherboard with PCI Card help and RAM help upto 8 GB 2. RAM - 2GB 3. pictures Card(PCI version, they are speedier than AGP variations) 4. DVD Burner or DVD blend 5. a cupboard with perfect aerodynamics(gaming computers get heated up very extremely) 6. the most important element - Processor, i ought to recommend a twin middle from CORE2 DUO or something 7. HDD, SATA a minimum of 120 GB 8. very last yet no longer the least, Sound Card(in case your on board sound isn't 5.a million channel)

Don't listen to Quentaru as you never need more than 8GB of ram. I would buy 1600MHz ddr3, not 1333MHz as it is usually about the same price. You should have 450 to 500 watts minimum for a new pc as 280 is too low for a modern build. Other than that the only other issue is your video card as it is weak for movies. XFX has a 6770 for $99 at Newegg.com or a GTX550 ti for $99 is better than the GT210.

8 gb of ram is plenty. u are not going to able to game with the 280W PSU, the graphics card will pull to much. but other than that. itll run. id say upgrade along the psu along with those other devices and ul be into entry level and some mid level gaming and thatll handle hd videos as well.yes a better processor adn graphics card will make it better but the current ones u show will do what u need to do

PSU- Cooler Master or Corsair are best and at least 700w.

Is Lenevo desktop you can add more ram, and 1 graphics card to increase your speed, and buy a new psu that i mention above.

I know the price would go up, but I would try to get more ram

at least 16 (may need to upgrade OS to support the ram)

    a better processor like an i7, http://www.microcenter.com/product/383144/Core_i7_...

a better graphics card like this one http://www.amazon.com/Sapphire-Radeon-PCI-Express-...

for your purpose is gaming, This is the stuff you should go for, Its more pricey but its worth it, because it'll run games smoother, cleaner and at a higher graphics level... Plus you'll be able to run the equipment longer before having to upgrade

and the higher ram, will be able to run things smoother and faster
