Can I be a Christian and listen to Kpop?
I am a Christian. I have been raised in the church all my life. I listen to mostly Asian music. Mostly Kpop/Korean music and Japanese music. I also watch Kpop/drama's, shows, and anime. These are my only source of entertainment. Kpop/Jpop and anime has made a huge impact in my life. I can speak Japanese, Chinese and Korean. I am at a university majoring animation.
What I am trying to say is, can I be a Christian and still listen to Kpop music? I just can't imagine my life without it. I have been listening to Korean, Japanese, and Chinese music for almost 10 years. Korean, Japanese, and Chinese music is the only music I listen to along with classical music and Christian music.
Can I just listen to the ones that doesn't have anything or satanic in it? I am a huge fan of Kpop and it made me who I am today.
I have seen Illuminati in Kpop video's and other Christians are saying if you're a Christian, stop listening to kpop and other worldly secular music. Only listen to Christian music. They talked about how the Illuminati (Satan) believes the effective way to control the world is through mind control of the masses. They use mind control through commerce, media, music, games, cartoons, education, politics, entertainment, and more. I know Satan is the god of this world 2 Corinthians 4:4 and his influence can be found in everything and everywhere.
I believe what people say about mind controlling from Illuminati because days ago before I knew anything about the Illuminati and mid control, I told my parents that I've been having all kinds of thoughts and it seem like my mind had a mind of it's own. I was thinking things I did not want to think and not true. It's been like that for a while. I was thinking about I hate Jesus. Jesus is dead, I love Satan. I hate my mom, dad, brothers, cussing and other crazy stuff. I even said one time out of my mouth I belong to Satan.
I just can't imagine my life without Kpop. Can I listen to Korean music that doesn't have any satanic signs, message, and symbols or do I have to give it all up? I do not want to go to hell and miss my chance being rapture up because of the music I listen to. I just can't stop listening to Kpop music. I will be sad if I have to give up Korean music and media and anime as well. I feel like my life will be boring. Are there other Christians into Kpop going through the same thing?

I have two suggestions to offer:
1. Find a strong church to be a part of. It looks as if you're really having some spiritual battles and struggles. To grow in your faith and counter this, it's of course imperative to pray and read scripture, but also to surround yourself with brothers and sisters who can encourage you to grow. "Illuminati" amounts to a conspiracy theory, and true of not, it really isn't your concern - if you're in the word and seeking to grow, you'll continue to live a life of worship even when hit especially hard by Satan or by the concerns of this life.
2. If Kpop, anime, etc. doesn't cause you to sin, then just enjoy it. You can certainly become addicted to such forms and you could find yourself enjoying particularly anti-Christian pieces, but neither Kpop nor anime contains much in the way of material that is explicitly anti-Christian. Non-Christian, yes, but not ANTI-Christian.
When I watch anime, I particularly look for themes and ideas that I can away and learn from. In fact, I find that there's a lot in that media, and in almost all media, that can help me grow in my faith, even if the context has no spiritual side to it at all. I hate to advertise here, but I recommend you visit my site, which explores such ideas (link below).

I'm a christain and I love Kpop so much! I also listen to other foreign music. But for me it's not about the type of music or genre. In any kind of non christain music there can be bad or good. Most Kpop doesn't have any bad things in it like swear or sex. If u feel that you shouldn't listen to a certain song... Then don't. American music can be really bad sometimes and sometimes good to. So my advice would be to keep listening to Kpop but if u find a song that doesn't please God then turn it off. Doesn't matter if it's English korean or japanese. Judge individual songs. But Kpop is awesome.

I have been listening to KPop for about 5 years now, as well as watching Korean Dramas and videos, etc etc etc. NEVER ONCE have I seen ANYTHING remotely evil or satanic about ANY kind of Korean entertainment. I haven't listened to JPop and I only listen to HanGeng's Chinese albums, but honey....you're freaking yourself out for no reason. If you're worried about these things, the answer is simple. Pray to your God for guidance, and ask Him to protect you from anything or anyone in your life who would do you harm. Here's the thing: You have to have faith that you are held by a force greater than you. You are already protected. You are already safe. And Korean music/dramas/videos cannot change that. It's something you love. All of these bands have Christian members. Do you think they would allow their entertainment companies to put evil images and symbols in their music? Of course not! It's music. It makes you happy. Don't worry about the Illuminati. If there is such a thing, they CERTAINLY aren't focused on Asian music or TV. They have bigger fish to fry, okay?
Really....it's fine. Listen to them with a smile on your face and know God loves you no matter what.

It's not a problem. The only problem is you need to be careful of what kind of messages the songs or shows send, you know? There's nothing wrong with enjoying worldly shows or songs. The only thing is that you can't let it take your focus off God. Basically, it's fine as long as it doesn't affect you in a way where you start to stray away from God.
Some people have different beliefs like more conservative about it, it depends on what you yourself believe. I hope you found/find peace and wisdom through this experience. It's also good that you asked about it, at least you showed concern and honesty. Fighting~!!!

Hi There ...
I am a Christian and active in the church. Things you ask, is a question for many people. I have a suggestion for you and the other Christian Kpopers.
Test everything; hold fast what is good.
It is the word of the Bible.
Word was not stating you have to stay away from a lot of things but you have to test it. Many bad things of Kpop, but many are good.
Take good.
One more thing, God never forbids people for entertainment, but we should not forget God. Kpop is not forbidden for Christians. Lots of Kpop artists who provide inspiration for Christians.
If you like Kpop, enjoy it, but do not forget God.
About Illuminati, Test everything; hold good, because of the fruit we know who the tree.
God bless U and Be Bless.

If you select to discover Chinese then you should know that Chinese language is without a doubt one of the hardest languages for westerners to find out, and up until finally now learning to talk Chinese to a degree of proficiency outdoors of the classroom atmosphere has been practically extremely hard but not if you decide on a program

Their companies make them have satanic subliminal messages in some songs/music videos. I think it appeals to larger audiences. All music genres have this not just Kpop. Since it doesn't directly relate to the idols beliefs in any way you should keep loving Kpop! :)

I think you may enjoy listening to kpop, as long as the lyrics are not worldly and won't draw you away from God. For example, avoid listening to songs with lyrics that are suicidal, self-glorifying, seductive and hateful.

you can choose to listen to any music you want
that does not mean how ever god would be pleased
Philippians 4:8-9
Easy-to-Read Version (ERV)
8 Brothers and sisters, continue to think about what is good and worthy of praise. Think about what is true and honorable and right and pure and beautiful and respected. 9 And do what you learned and received from me—what I told you and what you saw me do. And the God who gives peace will be with you.
