Could be several things including Sciatica

if you are sitting down all day.

See doctor if it doesn't go away in a week.

Hello,I went through your query, and let me assure you that it is not "Hernia" at all,it's just a kind of muscle pull, but the portion like testicle is has to be taken care of very seriously, i also has face this kind of problem, here are some suggestions:

1.Do some workout daily, especially stretching, which make you feel active and make your body more flexible.

2.Don't wear too tight clothes(Low-waist jeans etc.),wear trousers.

3.Wear boxers brief (if possible for whole day),but especially during night time when sleeping.

    Note:

1.Avoid Cycling and doing things which can stressed your testicle, but can enjoy sex"Because Sex Is The Best Exercise",sex provides you a better blood circulation towards your penis, and also provide an effective stretching.

2.Avoid sit on one place for a long time period(in 1 hr,sit for 50 mins and then have a walk for 10 mins).
