Hair color recommendation?

I have medium to dark brown hair. I want to get a peek a boo and dye the under part of my hair. I'm looking for a maroon color. Something that will look red but still have brown undertones. ( example: http://beautyis-skindeeep.tumblr.com/post/33482913... ) However, I would like to use a semi or demi permanent hair color that will last several shampoos but will not be permanent or damage my hair. Is this possible to achieve? If possible, what hair dye should I use? Thanks!
