Experience growing kale?

I would like to add kale to the garden this year. Do you grow it, have you had any problems/pests/etc. and what variety(ies) do you like to grow?

I live in growing sector 6/7.

Thanks in advance and good luck with your gardens this season.

A cool weather crop much like lettuce or chard. Plant indoors 7 weeks before last frost or direct seed in the garden 3 weeks before last frost. Space plants/seeds 6" apart. In your climate you should have a long growing season so you may want to stagger your planting. Plant only what your family will need for a couple of weeks then plant a new crop every 2 weeks.

    Good luck

The Tuscany or black palm or dinosaur kale is hardy in my zone 5 garden. It really sweetens up once the temp drops.
