How are fire sprinklers tested in apartments?

I live in an apartment and my supers are coming to inspect the sprinkler system in my apartment next week. I was wondering if someone can tell me how they test the sprinklers?

    Normally they don't test, sprinkler heads are a one-shot item, the normal procedure is to take out a few heads for sampling, If they find failures then they come back and replace them all. Inspection should also include inspection for damage including by paint.

    Inspecting is just a look-and-see. Testing is totally different.
