Is it safe to wrap a spider plant in wrapping paper (making a bag out of wrapping paper)? It will be in the wrapping paper for 5 days.

I was diagnosed with PCOS in September and have been on metformin for a month and a half now (started with 500mg/day for the first month, now 1000mg/day). My cycles have been anywhere between 34 and 52 days long and can be pretty awful. I was hoping that after being on metformin for over a month that I would notice at least some difference, and yet there is nothing.

I guess the only difference I've really noticed is that I didn't have a lot of spotting between my periods, mind you I still haven't had a period since starting metformin either. I've still spotted, but it has been so light and only where when I wipe after the bathroom (usually my spotting is as heavy as the average woman's normal period).

So I'm just wondering how long did it take before you started to notice a change in your cycle while treating pcos with metformin?

I am looking at setting up a contest for my small business to help generate new clients and get my name out. I was planning on going to my local wellness center and purchasing a few items then combining them with a gift certificate for my consultation services (I offer holistic health consultations). Would there be any laws or guidelines for Nova Scotia/Canada I should be paying attention to before I do this? I am still new to owning and operating my own business, trying to learn the ropes!

Three days ago my cat started to growl when she cleaned herself. It is similar to the growl she does when in heat (deep growl) and happens when she cleans her feet, back and sides. I checked out her and she has no sores, and doesn't react to pain in any way. She is still eating regularly with no problems or indications of a mouth problem and she doesn't growl every time she cleans herself either.

Has anyone else had this happen with their cat? She is not going back into heat (no other signs from her). She had been fed some tuna 2 days in a row and got sick, but that is the only thing that has changed... Also there's been a lot of stress in our house lately and I'm almost wondering if it's related.

Any thoughts would be really appreciated. We will take her to the vet if it continues a few more days or if any other symptoms appear.

I was given some deer pepperoni(contains deer as well as pork) and i wanted to eat it with honey mustard. I'm just wondering if I have to cook it first? It's frozen right now and was prepared at a butcher's shop (guy shoots deer, brings to butcher who prepares the deer into pepperoni)... Could I slice it and fry it then serve with honey mustard? I've never had it before!

I forgot to soak the kidney beans before bed last night so put them in to soak this morning. They've been soaking over 9 hours now, and I want to make chili for dinner. Are they okay to cook now?

This happened many years ago and has played on my mind over and over again. The thing that I keep wondering is, Was this rape?

I was casually dating a guy and I was still a virgin(he was not). He constantly made it known what he wanted and pushed for it. There were times where he would force my mouth onto his penis, and I didn't know what to do (as in I didn't want to, but was afraid of getting in trouble/getting him into trouble if I called out).

One time he bit my neck and said he would not let go until I said we could have anal sex. i didn't want to, but he wouldn't let go. I thought he was going to break the skin with his teeth, and finally i agreed. I told him not to go off inside of me, but he did anyways.

I felt ashamed of myself and dirty. But i finally agreed to do it in order to make the pain from his bite stop. I had a huge bruised mark on my neck, which I tried to hide as best as i could with concealer and wearing my hair down and scarves.

I still don't understand if I was raped or not, because i ended up agreeing to stop the pain. I'm obviously no longer seeing this guy and it happened so long ago but still plays on my mind. I think of it every time I have to expose myself for a woman's appointment and every time a stranger says something provocatively.

Any advice on how to get past this?

I have 3 tattoos right now, and am getting one of them touched up. The tattoo is about 2 1/2 years old on my arm and some of the ink isn't as vibrant as it once was. I was wondering, is the healing about as long for reshading as the original tattoo? I'm getting all the colour redone (from a different artist) and am not sure what to expect.

I started having a scratchy throat and feeling worn out yesterday, and today my throat has that irritated, scratchy feeling that hurts a little and makes you want to cough. To make things worse, my jaw(especially where the jaw connects to the ear) is KILLING me. The pain is the worse on the right side, so bad that I can't sleep. It is also giving me a headache.

I'm pretty sure this is some virus because I can't get warm and I'm achy all over. What can I do for the jaw pain? I can handle everything else but the jaw pain is just too much!

I live in an apartment and my supers are coming to inspect the sprinkler system in my apartment next week. I was wondering if someone can tell me how they test the sprinklers?

I have tried meditating with binary waves a few times, and although it causes me to feel very relaxed, I often end up feeling nauseous, lightheaded and slightly dizzy. Within minutes of listening to meditations(guided or not) incorporating binary waves, the front of my head starts to peel like it's vibrating from temple to temple. After stopping(even if I only do binary meditation for a few minutes) there is a slight sensation, like a light pressure, in my temples. After stopping, regardless of how long or short, even a minute of binary meditation, my stomach starts to feel nauseous and my head light and slightly dizzy.

Why does this happen to me? Traditional, normal meditation does not have this effect on me but binary has every single time I have tried it in the last few years. I enjoy it, but not the effects it causes.

Any thoughts or suggestions on what causes this response would be greatly appreciated!

My boss can sometimes say things that are out of line, and today she said something that really offended me. She had said 'All Italians are Catholic.' She knows that I am part Italian(Grandfather's family is Italian) and when she realized that it had offended me she just kept pressing it...

She kept saying that the pope is in Italy, therefor when I die I'll go to heaven and I was born catholic just because of my roots. I do not even believe in Jesus or the christian/catholic god or heaven or hell or satan.

So was I wrong to get offended by this or am I wrong all together? I'm feeling rather confused.

I am doing a school project and making an edible animal cell from cake. Because I am taking a holistic nutrition course, I do not want to use all those yuckie chemical dyes to colour the different icings for different internal parts of the cell.

What types of fruit or veggies work well for dying icing(buttercream)? I am looking for a variety of colours, as long as they work well. The cake will either be chocolate or spiced.

Oh and I am making this a day ahead, so it has to be able to keep well for at least 24 hours.
