Isn't it a great thing that the Aussie government is trying to get some accountability into our media?

Happens every time any government attempts to make the press (as opposed to TV and radio) responsible for screw-ups.

Look what happened in England when the Murdoch mob tapped that murdered girl's phone, making homicide police think she was still alive. That was not the only thing though. Old Rupert should have been banged up in the slammer for that alone. If that sort of thing happens in Australia we want the bosses in jail, not just the poor sods who are told they will be sacked if they don't do it.

At present it's a bit more lively than usual because the Murdoch mob are also scared stiff of the national broadband network. That's one reason they are trying to destroy Labor and get the mad monk in, since he has agreed to delay it. So the Murdoch Mudslingers are talking up challenges to the PM out of very little.

On top of that the media wants the law changed again to allow owners to control up to 75% of the media outlets in the country. Otherwise Channel 9 will go broke. Who cares, I haven't watched them much for years. Or 7, for that matter.

When that happens you can kiss your local news goodbye. All news will come from Sydney and if you are lucky you will get 10 minutes of local news a week. Sure way to piss off the Westralians and Queenslanders too. I'd say to hell with the media bosses and reduce it to 20% control maximum.

Survivor you need to understand that There are many lies being repeated through media, pretending that attraction is inborn & not learned, when this is simply false. We are born with brains that are only 1/4 developed, so we can better adapt to environmental influences. I'd suggest compassionateleexplore how this attraction developed. Also, realize that addictions/obsessions are an attempt to avoid pain. Pain is often the result of disappointed expectations.

And expectations... since most of our thinking is limited in awareness, are often unrealistic. From your perspective you think you have "never done well at anything" & that you're not capable or talented... Yet, that's a huge generalization, that I doubt you'd ever place on someone else.

Maybe you don't excel as much as others in some areas, but you do have abilities & have succeeded in more endeavors than not... otherwise you wouldn't have survived. You seem to have this false belief that anything of value must be the top 5%... anything "mediocre" is not.

But who's standards are you going by? Your parents? Media? IMO, what is of value is that which works. This obsession of yours isn't working - it's even threatening to kill you (with suicidal thoughts).

What else can you appreciate & value that will be more healthy for you & others?
